It all seems a bit chancey, someone else might grab it if I let it go and besides, I’ve had it since 07 and Dale McCready Cinematography still has use for it thanks. Also it’s not a competition but you seem to be managing fine without it.
It’s been an interesting new year so far with the end of my current job “Silk” on the Arri Alexa camera, reaching a personal milestone and deciding to form a company here in the UK for my business. Personally I’ve found it hard to maintain any closeness with my friends and have ended up just having to focus more on work until such time as I’m able to knit myself back into my London social group. It doesn’t help that I spend long hours working and any time off I try to spend quietly recovering. Some of my favourite people also have children now and it’s hard not to drift away from them when they’re just so busy and don’t seem to consider a single person such an equal anymore.
But regardless of all that boring griping, life is terrific and filled with as much promise as ever. There are more places to see, new skills to learn, new songs to play and listen to and I’m even planning some track day training on my motorbike. Brilliant. If I can top the year off with a movie to shoot and a love to grow into then it could be the best yet. Oh and I might finally have that photographic exhibition that I’d been meaning to for so long.

Bruce Munro’s Light Installation at Holburne Museum
Bruce Munro is a British lighting designer and installation artist best known for large scale lighting installations such as Field of Light, which was first exhibited at the V&A Museum in 2004. Right now he is working on another Field of Light installation at the Holburne Museum, in Bath, England.
At the Holburne, Munro’s piece will consist of over 5000 acrylic stems topped by frosted spheres, threaded with fibre optic cable and lit by 5x metal halide projectors on colour wheels. Munro’s new Field of Light will open to the public on Saturday November 26th and remain in place until 8th January 2012. During late December, Munro will unveil another, newly designed installation called Star Turn, for a one-day charity event at the Holburne Museum. Read and see more at Amusing Planet »
