Today I managed a run through the Foret Dominiale de Retz outside Villers-Cotterets, Picardie, France.
I’d intended a long run but got turned around when I came out at Fleury (a very pretty town) and went left when I should have gone right. I chanced upon a trail that I’d already run with a fallen tree half an hour later and realised I was back at the extreme of my run, instead of near home as I’d thought. 3 hours and 24kms later I hobbled home. Totally what I love about trail running though. Sometimes you get lost and you end up getting more exercise than you intended. A sure way to get fitter!
